An Indie Rock Band with a Unique Sound

Three musical journeys
Simon is lead and rhythm guitarist and vocalist. He is the song writer though Wayne has started contributing ideas of late. His musical influences are far ranging, drawing on rock, indie, punk, folk and jazz for inspiration in the song writing process. He also plays bass, tenor guitar and mandolin.
Wayne is the bass line behind the songs for the Monkwood Collective. He provides a solid yet imaginative bottom end for the band, locking in with Paul on drums to provide a firm rhythm foundation to support Simon's melodic ventures. Wayne is a multi instrumentalist and also plays for a local folk band Iscalis where he plays octave mandolin and shares writing duties. He loves leeks and saxophones.
Paul started his musical experience on the South Yorkshire 80s alternative scene when gothic meant church architecture not black hair and clothes. After many adventurs as a sound engineer and drummer he eventually ended up in Portsmouth. Since then he has played in several bands in the area including the busiest pub rock band and a folk group but contrary to rumour he never joined the Chas & Dave tribute band. He has too many symbols, one cow bell and a small dog.
